Victor NY celebrates local businesses, owners: Here are the winners – MPNnow.com

VICTOR – If there was a theme to the 16th annual Victor Business Awards, it was resiliency.

Initially scheduled to take place two years ago, the event — which celebrates businesses headquartered in the Victor area — was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But despite the delay, the overall mood was one of celebration for the 18 businesses being recognized.

“The businesses’ perseverance paid off in the pandemic because all of the businesses that were there yesterday survived,” said Kathy Rayburn, director of economic development and executive director of Victor LDC.

“They made it through,” she added.

The event, was held at the Cobblestone Creek Country Club Thursday, began with opening remarks from several local and state legislators to the 140 people gathered.

Among those in attendance were Victor Town Supervisor Jack Marren, state Senator Pam Helming and state Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan, all of whom praised the local business community for making it through the worst of the pandemic.

“The resilience in this room is extraordinary,” Gallahan said in his remarks.

“Victor is a place where people want to come, people want to live and people want to be educated. The winners today are an example of their hard work,” he added.

Vice President and Chief Development Officer for LSI Solutions Jim Guelzow also discussed how hard work — and a company’s mission — can play into the success of a business.

“We’re confident our mission plays a part in our success. Victor LDC delivers economic programs which provides support, recruitment and retention for local businesses. Lean on the people you see to support your business. It’s their mission,” he said.

“Two years ago we won business of the year,” Guelzow said, “and today we’re here to pass that torch.”
